Our client, a fruit farm based just outside Piketberg, has the above position available for a driven, analytical, and highly organised Accountant with a systematic approach to work, as well as the ability to work independently and accurately under pressure. Reporting to the Financial Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *bookkeeping up to balance sheet *preparing monthly management accounts for reporting to stakeholders *all month end closure procedures (journals, accruals etc.) *reconciliation of all intercompany loan accounts *monthly VAT201 & EMP201 reconciliation & submission *EMP501 reconciliation & submission *monthly salary run (leave, deductions etc.) *yearend closure, preparing the annual audit file & resolving audit queries *annual submission of workman’s compensation *cashflow projection *maintenance & upkeep of the financial asset register & monthly depreciation *biological asset reconciliation & fair value calculation *full debtors & creditors function, including monthly credit run *bank reconciliations *verifying & loading payments for release *all ad hoc financial functions related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Degree in Financial Accounting (BAcc / BCom / BCompt) or similar; • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position; • Excellent computer skills (MS Office & accounting software); • Strong interpersonal skills (Afrikaans & English); • Own reliable transport; • Completion of SAICA / SAIPA articles, and experience in the fruit industry will be advantageous.
