SA Wine, a newly formed wine and brandy industry body, is seeking an Executive: Development and Transformation. The successful candidate will drive impactful transformation throughout the wine and brandy industry value chain, advancing ownership and land reform, people and skills development, black-owned business development, and socio-economic development. Additionally, the ideal candidate will provide leadership to the industry around ethical trade issues, responsible corporate citizenship, and interventions to achieve the industry's transformation, B-BBEE, and community reinvestment goals.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure measurable inclusive growth;
• Advocate for government policies that enable measurable, sustainable development;
• Coordinate South Africa's response to new international standards to measure diversity, inclusion, and human rights in the wine value chain;
• Identify and develop partnerships to meet the strategic objectives of a transforming wine value chain;
• Coordinate industry resources and skills to develop black-owned farms and enterprises;
• Coordinate resources, partnerships, and know-how to transform the skills development landscape in the wine value chain;
• Identify, resource and monitor socio-economic development opportunities that best fit the wine value chain;
• Coordinate industry-wide transformation to improve overall B-BBEE scorecard performance;
• Raise funds for wine industry transformation from within and outside the industry;
• Promote SA Wine in the media and communicate measures for inclusive growth and transformation in the industry.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Relevant Honors BCom/BSc/Bachelor of Arts degree;
• 8-10 years' experience in a senior leadership role in a related business environment, with a Human Resource background;
• Knowledge of the South African wine & brandy industry and related political sensitivities;
• Ability to mediate and negotiate disputes diplomatically, especially in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment;
• Proven experience operating in a complex matrix environment;
• Proven fundraising and funding design experience;
• Proven success in implementing impactful transformation strategies;
• Expertise in Employment Equity, Labor Relations legislation, B-BBEE & ethical trade;
• Understanding of platforms that influence social compliance, diversity, and inclusion globally.
