Groot Constantia Estate, situated in the Constantia Valley, is actively recruiting for a Cellar Master to lead their team and take responsibility for the production function of world class premium wines. The successful candidate is an excellent team leader with strong technical and managerial skills, must deliver on strategic and quality objectives, and create the necessary operational efficiencies within the cellar and vineyard. The successful candidate will report to the CEO and be responsible for: *overseeing the vineyards in cooperation with the Farm Manager *overall management of the winemaking function, including coordination of harvest activities, vinification, blending, bottling, labeling, and inventory management *liaison with the Farm Manager & Viticultural Consultant *SAWIS *IPW *inventory management *health & safety requirements *personnel management *liaison with clients and suppliers *marketing activities (presenting wine tastings, attending wine shows, etc.) *assist with marketing, public relations, and related functions *all other tasks related to the role. Essential minimum qualifications, skills, and experience: • Tertiary qualification in Viticulture and Oenology or similar; • Minimum 10 years' winemaking experience in a similar senior role; • Willingness to travel and work hours as per wine industry requirements.
