Our client, a dynamic fruit marketing company situated in Stellenbosch, has an exciting opportunity available for an analytical and detail-oriented individual with excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the IFRS. The successful candidate will be responsible for generally overseeing the financial health of the company and help ensure its continued viability by attending to important functions such as monitoring cash flow, determining profitability, managing expenses, and producing accurate financial information. Duties will include: *managing all accounting transactions *preparing budget forecasts *timely publishing financial statements *handling monthly, quarterly, and annual closings *reconciling accounts payable and receivable *ensuring timely bank payments *computing taxes and preparing tax returns – VAT, PAYE, SARS related items, etc. *managing balance sheets and profit/loss statements *reporting on the company’s financial health and liquidity *auditing financial transactions and documents *reinforcing financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary *ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations *all other tasks related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Degree in Accounting required, completed articles (CPA/SAIPA/SAICA) will be advantageous; • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in the fruit industry; • Full understanding of and experience with Microsoft Business Central; • Strong computer skills (Advanced MS Excel); • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English); • Own reliable transport.
