Our client, a Group of Companies specializing in Citrus and Stone fruit and based in the beautiful Ashton Valley, is looking for a dynamic Financial Manager to lead and manage a small finance team and provide outstanding reports, direction and decision-making tools to this Owner-driven Group of Companies. The incumbent will report directly to the Owner/MD, and will need to apply both Financial- and Operational Management skills in successfully fulfilling this role. The successful candidate will be responsible for: *overseeing all financial and administrative functions of the group *managing the finance and admin teams *production of all financial statements and preparations for annual audit *calculation, preparation and submission of income tax, vat, customs & excise; and all other statutory returns and dealing with all SARS related tax queries *preparation and production of internal monthly management reports *financial analysis aiding strategic decision making *preparation of a comprehensive annual budgeting and management of capex expenditure *management of suppliers, debtors, and insurance-related tasks *oversee inventory control and management of the fixed asset register *oversee salary and wages administration *full bank relationship management (electronic transfers; forex payments and bank accounts management) *provide guidance and support relating to family business and trust matters *close collaboration with the senior farm manager and the team *trading of shares on behalf of the owner *all other tasks related to the position both operational and financial *general financial administration related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Tertiary qualification in Accounting required, registration as Professional Accountant PA(SA) or CGMA (CIMA) will be advantageous; • Minimum 5 years’ post article experience, or 10 years without articles; • Experience in the fruit sector will be advantageous; • Fully bilingual (English & Afrikaans); • Excellent financial and computer skills (MS Office, Pastel, Xero and SimplePay); • Own reliable transport; • Openness to be involved in more than pure Financial Management is essential.
