Stellenbosch Reserve, part of the Stellenbosch Collection, situated in Stellenbosch, currently has a position available for a dynamic Assistant Winemaker to join their team. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills (Afrikaans and English) and the ability to perform well in both team context and individually. The Assistant Winemaker will report to the Winemakers and will be responsible for (but not limited to): *winemaking process as part of the winemaking team *blending and stabilisation of wine *coordination of harvest activities *quality control and cellar hygiene *inventory management *cellar staff management *liaison on wine sales, wine tastings and promotions *wine/cellar administration *record keeping *all other functions related to the position. Essential minimum qualifications, skills and experience: • BSc Agric Viticulture and Oenology, Elsenburg Qualification in Cellar Technology or similar, with the main interest in Oenology; • Approximately 3-5 years' winemaking experience • Knowledge of different quality control systems (IPW, HACCP, WIETA) • Excellent computer proficiency; • Reliable own transport with valid driver’s license; • Willingness to work hours as per wine industry requirements.
