Our client, a manufacturer operating in the dairy industry, has the abovementioned exciting opportunity available at one of their dairy exchange sites situated in Killarney Gardens, Cape Town. The ideal individual is a results oriented, meticulous individual with strong interpersonal and leadership skills to lead and guide the production team. The Production Manager will responsible for planning, coordinating, organising, and controlling of all production/packing/distribution related activities. Duties will include: *staff management *management of factory operations, production and packing lines *planning, scheduling, and supervising of production activities and setting schedules as required *ensure maintenance and proper functioning of manufacturing equipment *management of daily operational activities *manage product yields and maintain waste within the required targets *monitoring of process yields, material usage, cold store stock and cleaning materials *ensure compliance to food safety legislations, regulations, and health and safety requirements *implement and maintain organisational food safety management systems *participate in internal audits and hygiene checks *assist in customer complaint investigation *liaison with sales department on collection times *manage picking, product marking, and loading of trucks *ensure mandatory distribution documentation completion and control *recordkeeping *all other tasks related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Matric required, a relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous; • Approximately 4 -6 years’ relevant experience in a similar role in the dairy industry; • Experience in ice cream manufacturing advantageous; • Knowledge of technical processes, principles, and lean manufacturing methodologies advantageous; • Fully bilingual (English & Afrikaans); • Own reliable transport.
