Horizon House, Centre for Persons with Primary Intellectual Disability in Stellenbosch, is looking for an experienced, dynamic Residential Manager to direct the day-to-day operations of an adult residential centre and oversee care being provided to improve the residents’ quality of life. The ideal candidate can take initiative and has the ability to be creative while managing multiple priorities in a busy residence. The successful candidate needs to manage diverse duties and multiple priorities; be able to maintain effective relationships with residents, families, staff, and other internal/external stakeholders. Duties will include: *Promote the values, strategic vision, and policies of Horizon House *Ensure that catering, laundry, and cleaning services are managed and delivered effectively *Promote a positive and productive work environment *Develop and manage personal, as well as residential team’s critical Performance Areas *Manage crisis situations and behavioural issues as the needs arise *Ensure sound fiscal management procedures are being followed *Ensure timely and accurate documentation *Maintain compliance with legal quality standards within the facility, handle emergencies concerning correct procedures *Organize activities to create a community and positive relationships among residents *Ensure that the needs of the residents are met to a high standard *Ensure that each resident lives in a home environment that fosters security, personal dignity, and privacy *Help residents to access local services *Ensure regular residential staff meetings *Where necessary, ensure that all disciplinary and grievance procedures are carried out in line with company policy and statutory requirements *Manage change effectively *Ensure residential staff adhere to the rules, policies, and procedures of the organization *all other tasks related to the role. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Matric and a Business Management Diploma, Hospitality Management Diploma or similar tertiary qualification; • 5 years’ experience in a similar role, including in a management capacity (experience in a similar environment advantageous); • Knowledge of household upkeep and other domestic duties; • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English); • Valid driver's license. This is a full-time position and requires flexibility in work schedule, including at least one evening and one early morning shift per week.
