Our client, a premium solar power and security systems provider, with offices in Cape Town (Paarl) and Middelburg, is currently recruiting for the exciting role of a Procurement Manager for its Paarl operations. This exciting role as Procurement Manager takes responsibility for the sourcing, procurement and negotiations of pricing of new stock, equipment and other purchases. This position requires a proactive approach from a self-starter who can continuously deliver the installations/construction teams with stock. This role is a critical part of the business success as a premium services and installations partner to its clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Formulates requests for proposal/quotations/information, bid analysis, tenders, and risk evaluations *Administers and leads cross-functional teams through the competitive bidding process, directs supplier negotiations, develops, evaluates, and selects suppliers in accordance with company policies *Strategically sources equipment and services using a variety of methods to ensure an uninterrupted supply *Evaluates and selects suppliers based on their ability to provide the goods/services and at costs consistent with budgetary expectations *Be responsible for negotiation of construction contracts to minimize operational, legal and financial risks *Collaborates with both internal and external legal counsel, as applicable *Tracks material/service costs and supplier performance using approved metrics and tools *Analyses trends and makes corresponding sourcing decisions *Engage in regular contact with suppliers *Leads and/or participates in meetings with suppliers to rectify issues and to ensure suppliers are capable of meeting and are aware of the requirements and expectations *Perform work according to the department KPI goals *All other managerial and admin functions related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • A relevant tertiary qualification (BCom, Diploma or similar in Finance, Operations, Planning or Engineering); • Relevant experience in sourcing and supplier management; • Excellent computer proficiency; • The ability to plan under pressure and act swiftly when quick turnaround times are critical.
