Our client, Viking Aquaculture (Pty) Ltd., currently has a vacancy for a Debtors Clerk based at Buffeljags Abalone Farm (Gansbaai, Western Cape). The Debtors Clerk will be responsible for the processing of sales orders, invoices and accounts receivable transactions within the department’s specified financial controls. Responsibilities will include: *Processing of all sales orders and dispatch documentation received *Liaise with sales team and dispatch to resolve discrepancies *Generation of foreign currency commercial invoice *Capturing of tax invoices *Capturing of customer deposits and assist with the reconciliation of cashbook receipts *Reconciliation of customer accounts as well as approved commission and issuing of customer statements *Assist with the compilation of monthly debtors age analysis *Responsible for collection of overdue accounts and prompt notifications to sales team *Assist with the vetting of new customer account applications and requested changes to existing customers *Assist with monthly calculation of outstanding foreign currency debtors *Assist with external and internal audit requests *Assist Accountant and GCFM with group reporting requests *all other tasks related to the role. Technical Competencies: • Knowledge of accounts receivable documentation process and the associated accounting transactions; • Knowledge of sales related VAT application; • Proven experience with Pastel accounting package; • Strong Microsoft Excel skills; • Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately review information received; • Ability to take responsibility and solution driven; • Work experience in manufacturing will be advantageous. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Completed Grade 12; • Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or related will be advantageous; • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position; • Must be a team player; • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
