Our client, a mechanical manufacturing company in Stellenbosch, has an exciting career opportunity for a driven, detail-oriented, technically-minded and analytical individual. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Draughtsman and will be responsible for all tasks related to draughting and cost estimation. Responsibilities will include: *concept designing, rendering, detail designing and compilation of manufacturing drawings for each design *research and design of new concepts *product development of current products (with guidance from senior draughtsman) *technical support to sales team *technical support to manufacturing *costing of new and old designs *costing updates on the standard range of products *estimations for new or custom designs *comparisons of estimated versus actual costs upon the completion of a product *all other tasks related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Matric with Mathematics; • Diploma in Mechanical Draughting; • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position in the mechanical field is required, experience specifically in the trailer industry will be to the candidate’s advantage; • Proficiency in Afrikaans and English (verbal and written); • Strong computer skills (MS Office & Auto Desk programmes required, experience with Access beneficial); • Valid driver's license and own transport.
