JOB DESCRIPTION
At DGB the Operations Executive plays a key role in the value offering to our customers. In summary you will be responsible to:
- Align departmental goals to company objectives.
- Lead and organize staff to achieve operational efficiency and exceptional customer service.
- Create shareholder value through effective management of budget and cost containment.
- Implement and manage key performance indicators for operational effectiveness across multiple functions.
- Stock management for zero losses and 100% availability across the SA business unit.
- Develop integrated logistics management systems that collaborate with other departments especially sales and marketing.
- Manage bonded warehouse facilities.
- Build internal and external customer partnerships.
- Manage 3rd party relationships and service level agreements.
- Maintain compliance with all legal, health, safety, environment, hygiene, quality, road traffic act and security regulations.
- Implement and maintain corporate governance norms and requirements.
- Set and manage budgets across all areas of responsibility
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Education: A three year degree in logistics or supply chain management will be preferable.
- Technical: Good wine knowledge, preferably supported by relevant, recognised wine qualifications.
- Required Minimum Work Experience: At least 5 years proven logistics/warehouse operations management experience
• Must have imports experience including managing bond stores
• Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
• Strong leadership attributes and proven ability in staff management
• Strong decision making and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Effective delegation, planning, organisational and prioritisation skills
