Our client, operating in the transport industry, currently has the above position available at their transport depot situated on a farm just outside Stellenbosch. The ideal candidate is a reliable, practically-minded and technically-inclined individual with excellent communication skills (Afrikaans & English) and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will report to the Depot/Farm Manager and be responsible for general supervision and coordination of activities at the depot and sheep farm (190ha), including: *handling aspects related to the depot/site activities *basic repairs on trucks and truck break-down support *liaising with fuel suppliers *receiving & management of fuel deliveries *staff management *assistance with sheep farming activities *basic farm maintenance activities *handling of relevant documentation *recordkeeping *all basic administrative tasks related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Matric is a requirement, a relevant tertiary qualification will be to the candidate’s advantage; • 3-5 years’ practical farm supervisory experience or similar managerial position in the agricultural industry; • Basic knowledge of mechanical truck maintenance; • Basic computer literacy; • Driver's license (Code 8 required, Code 10/14 will be to the candidate's advantage); • Willingness to travel and work overtime and weekends.
