Our client, an accounting firm situated in Caledon (Overberg) has two Accountant positions available. The ideal candidates are detailed, driven individuals with excellent accounting knowledge, the ability to work under pressure and interpersonal skills (Afrikaans and English). The successful candidates will report directly to the Partners and be responsible for (but not limited to): *Preparing accounting work relating to annual financial statements *Examine, analyse, and interpret accounting records to prepare financial statements (IFRS and IFRS for SME's) *Responsible for calculating VAT,PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis *Preparation of monthly management accounts *Writing up of more complex accounting records of clients on Pastel *Assisting in general accounting and payroll related duties for clients *Liaising directly with clients to source new work for the accounting department *Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies *Ensuring to meet minimum billing hours as per the company standards *Teach and lead SAIPA article clerks *all other general and administrative tasks relevant to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • BCom Accounting or similar degree with completed SAICA/SAIPA articles; • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar position; • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office, Pastel, Caseware/Draftworx AFSdrafting package, VIP Payroll); • Driver’s license and own reliable transport; • Willingness to travel for work requirements.
