Brookdale Estate, located in the Paarl Winelands, is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual with a passion for wine and a proven track record to join their team and grow the presence of their wines in both South African retail and trade and in the international market. The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Working with Operations, Marketing, and the Wine Team to increase market share of products *Brand promotion *Developing and implementing sales strategy for on-con and off-con locally and abroad *Identifying, growing and taking care of new and existing relationships with customers, distributors and merchants *Launching new products into trade and ensuring new products are listed with the correct product positioning *Creating annual sales plan and budget *Ensuring customers, distributors and merchants are informed of changes within products/product lines *Managing allocation distribution where necessary *Work closely with logistics and distributors to ensure wine is distributed correctly *Briefing Marketing on requirements for wine trade (creative requirements, promotional events etc) *Reporting on sales and adjusting strategies as needed *Hosting special events, tastings, wine shows, etc *All other tasks related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Tertiary qualification in Wine/Sales/Marketing; • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position in the wine industry; • Extensive knowledge of wine and the wine industry, and strong relationship management skills; • Excellent interpersonal skills (English & Afrikaans); • Knowledge of key export markets is essential; • Strong organisational, analytical, sales & negotiation skills; • Flexibility and willingness to travel.
