Our client, a well-established pallet manufacturer and preferred pallet supplier in the Western Cape for the fruit export market, the wine industry and various FMCG and industrial companies, is looking to appoint two (2) candidates in the abovementioned position. Location: Paarl Under the direction of the Factory Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the manufacturing of pallets while ensuring employees meet company standards for safety, security, and productivity while adhering to customers quality criteria. The Production Supervisor works as team leader in the fast-paced production environment that requires meeting production targets on a daily basis. RESPONSIBILITIES: *Provide direct daily supervision of warehouse personnel *Continuously improve all production methods while adhering to all safety procedures *Responsible for training and development of employees *Assigning work to teams, meeting completion dates *Ensure consistent application of organizational polices *Maintains shift reports and records *Control pallet movement to/from clients *Supervise the checking of outgoing and incoming freight for proper counts and codes *Verifies employee hours worked on clocking system *Disciplinary management of teams *Supervise all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely fashion *Evaluate housekeeping, security, and sanitation levels of production area *Performs other administrative duties as required. REQUIREMENTS: • 2 - 3 years’ experience in a similar position; • 1 - 2 years' supervisor experience with particular emphasis on leadership, supervision, communication and planning; • Ability of standing and walk for extended periods of time; • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English); • Basic computer literacy; • Driver’s license.
