Waboomsrivier Winery, situated in the picturesque Breedekloof Wine Valley, has an exciting opportunity available for a Winemaker. The Winemaker’s primary focus will be on the production of top quality bottled and bulk wine. The ideal candidate is an energetic team player who likes taking initiative and who would form part of a great team that go the extra mile to achieve operational and team goals. The successful candidate will be responsible (but not limited to): • Full winemaking process in the cellar • Ensuring compliance with relevant quality/regulatory standards and ethical trade requirements (IPW/SAWIS/ISO 22000/WIETA) • General cellar administration • Perform general viticultural duties and liaise with the producers • Cellar hygiene and manage the health and safety requirements and system • Coordinate the maintenance of machinery and equipment • Cellar staff management Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Relevant qualification in Viticulture and Oenology; • Minimum 5 years relevant experience; • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office/Wine MS); • Thorough knowledge of relevant quality systems and accreditations; • Valid driver’s license.
