Ceres Fruit Growers (Pty) Ltd, one of the leading fruit packaging and marketing companies in SA, is looking for an energetic and professional individual in the following role at their Ceres plant, namely: Special Programmes Manager This role will report directly to the Manager: Producer Services and form part of a dynamic team that takes care of maximizing producers' income potential and accepts responsibility for: •Overall management of pest control protocol, including management of MRL’s, cooperation with chemical representatives and industry bodies regarding compliance with market residue requirements •Liaison with producers regarding farm protocol, and special marketing programs •Conducting physical orchard inspections and supporting producers •Monitoring and communication of spray samples and programs to clients, including administrative aspects thereof •Compilation and interpretation of spray program guidelines to producers •After gaining experience: Overseeing allocated production units with regards to fruit specifications, pool choices, and orchard preparation strategy •Ensure that what the market requires is produced and provides ongoing assistance to these production units to add maximum value. The appropriately qualified incumbent will meet the following requirements: •Tertiary qualification in Agricultural Sciences •Experience with Entomology or Horticulture, especially within the pome fruit industry, will be to the candidate’s advantage •Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar work environment •Outstanding interpersonal relations and excellent communication skills in Afrikaans & English •Ability to work independently •Excellent computer literacy in MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint •Excellent fruit knowledge •Own reliable transport and valid driver’s license Ceres Fruit Growers (Pty) Ltd offers a market-related compensation package that is accompanied by the benefits and pleasant working conditions associated with a thriving company.
