Our client, a wine farm situated in the beautiful Lutzville area, currently has the above position available for an energetic individual with excellent managerial, interpersonal and communication skills (Afrikaans & English). The farm produces 700 tons of wine grapes and supply a local, established cooperative Wine Cellar. The ideal candidate can work independently, is self-motivated, can handle pressure and naturally shows pro-active initiative. The successful candidate will report directly to the Farm Manager and be responsible for (but not limited to) the following: *coordinate daily farming activities *planting *fertilizing *disease and pest control *pruning programs *weed control *staff management *weekly production targets *general administration *basic farm maintenance management *all other tasks related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • A relevant tertiary qualification in Viticulture and Oenology, Agriculture or related field; • Experience and knowledge of viticulture and wine production with Fairtrade Standard codes will be an added benefit; • The suitable candidate must have numerical and computer literacy with excellent communication skills aimed at managing a team; • Minimum 3-5 years’ practical farm supervisory experience or a similar managerial position; • Excellent computer literacy (MS Office); • Any African language as a third language will be to the candidate’s advantage.
