Our client operates in the geotechnical engineering sector, and currently has the above position available for a detailed individual with accurate admin and bookkeeping skills. The company is based in Botswana, with the small admin, management and finance team based at their office in Paarl, Western Cape. The ideal candidate has the ability to work independently, take ownership of allocated tasks and should have the willingness to fully understand the daily- and monthly accounting duties and how it impacts the business. The Accountant will report to the Financial Executive and will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Full preparation of financial records up to trial balance (Sage Pastel) *Managing debtors/creditors *Processing and loading of all payments processing/ transactions *Administration and management of internal accounts including monthly reconciliations *Administrative duties within the finance function *Statutory Compliance (VAT, EMP201, WCA, Year-ends etc) *Assistance to the Group Financial Manager in accounting functions and all other tasks related to the position. Essential skills, qualifications, and experience: • BCom degree in Financial Accounting or Cost and Management Accounting OR at least completed articles (SAIPA) or similar. • 3+ years practical experience as an Accountant preferably with post-articles experience; • Computer literacy (advanced knowledge of accounting systems, SARS, Excel and other related platforms).
