Huis Horison situated in Stellenbosch has the following exciting career opportunity. The successful candidate is a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, can work accurately under pressure and has sound analytical, numerical and financial skills. A relevant accounting qualification (BCom), minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a financial accounting role, computer literacy (Pastel, MS Office and Payroll), experience in dealing with SARS and working knowledge of the Income Tax and VAT Acts as well as applicable Labour Laws and practices are further prerequisites.
•This successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for the full accounting function.
Duties include (but is not limited to) the following: * preparation of monthly management accounts, accruals, provisions and journals * producing monthly trial balances * maintaining Balance Sheet schedules * preparation of annual audit files * issuing of invoices * preparation of payment requisitions * monthly bank and other reconciliations * preparation of a comprehensive annual budget * maintaining the Fixed Asset register * calculation, preparation and submission of Income Tax,VAT and other statutory returns * dealing with all SARS related tax queries * general assistance with office management and liaison with suppliers and debtors * compilation of creditors and debtors reconciliations * monthly payroll on Pastel Payroll * maintaining the cash book system * ensure safekeeping of cash on hand.
