Maine Chance Farms, one of the largest thoroughbred stud farms in South Africa, is situated outside of Robertson. The company is currently seeking the services of an Office Manager who will become part of the management team, and will report directly to the owner.

This position is aimed at a deadline-driven individual who functions well under pressure, and is prepared to go the extra mile.

The ideal candidate will pay attention to detail, be well-organised, show excellent administrative, organisational and communication skills, and will adhere to a high standard of office ethics and etiquette. It will be essential to have strong interpersonal skills in communicating with all members of staff.

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for general office management, and client relationships. Duties will include (but not be limited to): *Office administration; *File all documents related to the position; *Market the farm to clients; *Serve refreshments to visitors; *Manage the website; Organise sales hospitality and branding; * Administrate and annually update company short-term insurance; *Keep and distribute minutes of management meetings; Draft and distribute stallion AGM reports and minutes; *All other administrative and ad hoc tasks as delegated to the position.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Approximately 5 years’ office management and marketing experience;
• A thorough understanding of the thoroughbred breeding and racing industry;
• A tertiary qualification will be to the candidate’s advantage;
• Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, specifically Excel and Word);
• English speaking, with a working knowledge of Afrikaans;
• Driver’s license and own reliable transport.
